   You know, now that I’ve been shopping online for just about everything, I even decided that I would get all my wedding accessories and reception supplies there too.    I felt that a hearts wedding would be the best theme for our wedding and reception since we were getting married so close to Valentines day. When he walked, he didn’t get out of sync with everyone else, and he bore the rings in distinguished fashion. I was so proud of both of them.
  

   The centerpieces we had made up for the reception dinner had tiny hearts intermixed with roses that were white, pink, and red. On each of the reception tables were little two hearts wedding candles to set the romantic mood of the theme I had chosen, and at each setting was the nicest place card holders I could find. The wedding favors we got our guests should be a terrific souvenir from our wedding; they had handles in the shape of a heart attached to tiny silver bells. There were frosting hearts all around the bottom layer of our wedding cake, and each layer was decked out in pink and red roses all around. There was a porcelain wedding cake topper, colored white, that fit in with our hearts wedding cake and the rest of our cake adornments beautifully. 
  

   Everything at our wedding and reception was the perfect picture of a true valentines day wedding with all the hearts and flowers imaginable. Thank goodness for the world wide web, which certainly saved me a ton of time and hassle.

Our table at the recpetion shone brilliantly with crystal glasses for the champagne and wine, and the rest of the tables there were just as pretty. The place cards went on top of a daisy petal, and the daisies sat inside a wee flower pot.
The splendid food and salad choices and desserts that our caterers put together for us left us blown away. The musical performers we got for our reception were an awesome choice, too. We got the best band in our location thanks to some connections that my groom had. These guys could play just about anything you requested. The band made our first dance as husband and wife a very memorable moment indeed. One of our guests liked them so much, he hired them on the spot to play at his son’s engagement party next month.
The entire wedding day and night were everything I had ever dreamed of and more. I’ve got lots of terrific photos that our photographer shot for us and a video of the ceremony and our first dance. Everything that had anything to do with the wedding had a heart design, the invites and gifts and everything. With the silver on them, they were rather striking. Even their unity candle for the ceremony had two little hearts hanging in front, and there were gorgeous candle holders for the unity candle and the tapered candles as well. The altar looked fabulous with all the lovely flower bouquets and the candle setting. The tulle was strung from pew to pew, with little hearts on the pews as well. The fact that they tied the knot on Valentine’s Day no doubt had something to do with the whole hearts idea. The bride was so beautiful that you couldn’t take your eyes off of her, and she was the center of an unforgettable ceremony.
At the reception there were hearts and flowers everywhere you looked. The silver hearts wedding theme carried over to the place cards holders at the reception tables, and they complimented the red and white rose centerpieces beautifully. The wine glasses and champagne glasses made the tables sparkle. The bride arranged the tables beautifully. The champagne flutes were long stemmed crystal and the wine glasses were personalized with the names of the bride and groom and the date of their wedding. The champagne glasses on bride and groom table were really something special. The hearts wedding cake they had made had five layers and it was delicious. It looked as good as it tasted. The wedding cake topper was special, the only one of that type I’ve ever been exposed to. She said she bought it at a wedding website where she got all of her accessories and reception supplies. They apparently do customizing on wedding toppers, and all she had to do was send in photos of her and her fiance and they made the special cake topper couple. I’m sure they’ll treasure that forever.
In the end, we gave a hearts wedding cake to all of the guests. First there was a lovely votive candle holder and also coffee favors decorated in a groom package for the men and a bride package for the ladies, with little heart shaped coffee scoops. It struck me as a neat pair of gifts to give everyone. Come to think of it, their entire wedding day was filled with sharp ideas they had. I know hearts are the a perfect choice for a Valentines Day wedding, but I was impressed with all the gorgeous decorations and accessories she found for everything. I really thought the wedding cake topper was the most awesome of all. That’s a great idea for a birthday or any other happy celebration. She told me they have supplies and decorations for many events, and promised to show me where she shopped. They couldn’t have put it together any better, and all of the people who went had a smashing time there. I’m sure the bride and groom are having a great week in Mexico too. I can’t wait until they return and I can see all the pictures she took, listen to all the stories of the fabulous places they saw and things they did. The pictures she showed me on the brochures were fantastic.

Kids need bathtub toys, and Sesame Street’s Ernie even sang a song about one of the classics, a tune called ‘Rubber Duckie You’re the One.’ It seemed like a longshot, but I checked to see if there were any duck baby shower available anyway, and I was pleasantly surprised. I got so many great ideas over the net, and finding adorable little accessories and supplies to go with a duck baby shower was easier than I had expected. There are a lot of adorable little duck favors and decorations to be found on the internet for baby showers and even toddler birthday parties.
The den in my basement was big enough to hold everyone, so I put tables down there with seating for four people. I put baby shower gifts in one corner, and then at the opposite end of the den was a table with appetizers, drinks, deserts, and a layered cake in the form of a rubber ducky and the words baby girl written on it. Each had a poster or two of Mickey Mouse or one of his friends; the ones of Daffy Duck and Daisy Duck were enormous.
The place card holders I bought and put out at the shower were miniature pink picture frames that had a little ducky in each of the corners. The punch bowl had ducks painted all over it, as did the plates, napkins, glasses, and favor candles that each guest received as a gift. I bought a bathtub for an infant that was in the form of a duck at a local retail place, and I put the punch bowl inside of it. When you looked at it, you just wanted to say, ‘aww, how sweet.’ I also bought duck molds and filled them with yellow colored water for duck shaped ice cubes. Believe me, it was the most ducks you’ve ever seen in one place at one time.
On the world wide web, I found a bunch of great ideas, and that’s pretty much where I found everything I needed, but I did get a few recommendations from some of the people at my school. That’s where I found such cute little duck shower favors, like the delightful little duck favor bookmarks and candle holders. We used them as prizes for the contests we had at the baby shower, and all of the guests adored them.
I put some rubber duckies in a large, square-shaped, makeshift tub that I filled with water before anyone got to the shower yet. Every duck had a number on the under side of it, and every guest grabbed one duck out of the tub as they walked in. A couple of hours into the shower, I picked a number out of a jar, and the person with that numbered duck received an award. Another fun thing we did was when we tried to match each person to a photo of her that was taken when she was a baby. The guests were told in advance to take a baby picture of theirs to the shower with them, and then we put them all on a board and put the board in the front of the room. All of the people at the shower got a good look at all of the pictures on the board, and then they sat down and attempted to guess who was in what picture. The one with the most correct matches won a prize.
Everyone enjoyed themselves, and the new mommy picked up quite a pile of wonderul presents for her baby girl. I’m so glad I found this idea for the baby shower online. I pulled off one heck of a baby shower, even though it seemed pretty far-fetched at first. The duck theme really was a cute idea.

So, I decided to start with the decorations for my reception tables first. Since this was a country western motif, all my tables were picnic tables with checked tablecloths and a little metal bucket full of daisies was the centerpieces. I gave the barbecue grill place card holders be an extra little keepsake of our reception, to the guests after the party. Since we were having a family cookout instead of having our party catered, I thought the little grills were a nice added touch. To have the feel of the old west, we added little miniature cowboy hats for everyone’s place setting and set out cowboy boot shaped glasses for them to drink from. I chose the really lovely honey pots and dippers, with a heart on the end on their handles, as the ceramic wedding favors for our guests, instead of the tea caddy I saw earlier. I felt they worked out better for a country western theme and I really liked the way they looked. There were also beautiful candle holders that would have made a terrific ceramic wedding for our guests, and I almost decided on that. Not only did our reception tables look like an authentic down home celebration, but all the rest of the accessories we had for our reception was perfect too.
With the haystacks we set up and the white lights twinkled in the trees, it was the epitome of a country wedding. In fact there were lots of laughs through the whole reception, with all the dancing and partying that was going on, we were all having a fantastic time. As far as a gift for our ring boy and flower girl, we found adorable little tee shirts that said ‘flower girl’ and ring bearer’on them. Everyone seemed to be happy with the thank you gifts we chose for them.
I also bought a few extras for myself, like a sharp little western themed guestbook and pen, picture album and I even ordered a cowboy hat for me and my husband that said bride and groom on them. I thought this would turn out great, but it was way more better than I had imagined, what a super party we had.
