What better day for two people to marry than on Valentine’s day? We both wanted a Valentines day wedding. I went shopping for our ‘love themed favor‘ just as soon as we had all the arrangements for the church and our reception taken care of. It didn’t take me long to find some very romantic wedding invitations for our ceremony. They were such pretty invitations with little silver hearts linked together on the front. Mom’s suggestion of buying extra invitations was really a good idea since I messed up two of them while writing them out.
With the wedding invitations out of the way, I knew it was time to start on the wedding and reception supplies. My mom and I went shopping for my bridal dress and shoes, together. When she finally stopped tearing up after I tried on a few dresses, she was very helpful. I finally found the wedding gown I was meant to wear and it only took seven or eight shops and 25 or maybe, 30 dress styles to try on. In the meantime, my fiance picked out his tux and so did the groomsmen at the first shop they went to. I was praying that he wouldn’t give the appearance of a pall bearer standing at the altar, because he picked the first suit he tried on. But I was wrong, he did good, and he looked extremely handsome.
After I took care of everything the wedding party needed, it was time to consider ceremony decorations. Since this was a valentines day wedding, there were lots of gorgeous red roses, ribbons and big velvet bows on each row of pews. I bought a gorgeous unity candle with a love theme and surrounded it with lots of other beautiful candles. I was given permission for the flower girl to toss the red and pink flower petals on the aisle. There’s a lot of churches that frown on that tradition, but luckily ours isn’t one of them. The wedding was fantastic and the decorations were gorgeous, it was the perfect wedding ceremony.
I thought there was a lot to buy for the ceremony, but there was a lot more to get for the reception. I started with the love themed decorations and worked my way onto falling in love favors for our guests thank you gifts. The decorations were really quite romantic with hearts dangling from the ceiling and flowers everywhere. On the dance floor just in front of the band was a huge heart made of red and white balloons.
On our tables were little cupids sticking our of centerpieces of gorgeous flowers. Our little place card holders had beautiful little white pearls on them. I also found very decorative favor boxes for the love favors we had for our guests. Everyone commented on how lovely their reception tables were and the little favor boxes too. Our bridal wedding table was really exquisite too. There were crystal heart champagne flutes for our wedding toast, and an absolutely gorgeous love themed cake serving set. But the most beautiful thing on our table was our lovely three tiered wedding cake. For our cake topper I decided on these adorable little love birds. Our wedding table was exquisitely decorated, from the gorgeous crystal to our magnificent wedding cake.
We had a picture perfect wedding and reception, thanks to all the accessories and supplies I found online.
I got to the thank you notes for our guests as soon as we got back from our fabulous honeymoon. Many of the guests sent us thank you’s for the great time they had at the wedding and reception and for the love party favors gifts they received. That was truly very thoughtful of them.
